I need a rough facial exfoliate!!?
My skin is a bit tougher than most others and I have to exfoliate alot! all the “shelf brands” dont do a good job. They’re too weak. I use a scotch brite-dish washing pad for my back and chest (lightly and firm) haha but it works awsome.
Any advice on a rough exfoliate for my face? I might try the scotch brite . . .I’ve tried the exfoliate pads, different types of face wash/exfoliates and pro active.(bedbathbodywrks, CVS etc.)
Anyone know where I could find something rougher than most? 10 points baby!
First of all, do not use a scotch brite dish washing pad on your skin, you will actually make your skin worse in doing so, as it is too rough for use on the skin. When you exfoliate, you should do so using a soft cloth to rub the mixture in, a 100% cotton wash cloth works the best.
When it comes to choosing an exfoliater, look for ones that contain natural, strong exfoliating agents including Sea Salt, Ground Almonds, And Oatmeal.
The strongest I have found is the BioNaturals brand. They have a spa salt exfoliater that is absolutely incredible, and way better than all the “other brands” that are available over the counter.
The best method to exfoliate skin is the following:
Brush your skin while it’s dry before you turn the shower on. Use a body exfoliating brush. You should start at the soles of your feet and work your way up your body, doing your face last. Wet your entire body throughly with lukewarm water. Apply a strong exfoliating cleanser to a loofah or exfoliating gloves. Scrub your body using circular motions that are gentle and slow. Rub rough spots with a pumice stone that is slightly damp. Dry your body off completely. Apply a moisturizer that contains alpha and/or beta hydroxy acids which will continue to exfoliate your skin even when you have finished your routine.
For the best exfoliater EVER combine equal parts lemon juice and olive oil, and then add 1/4 cup sea salt. It is the best at exfoliating skin.
